Rogen – large and crystal clear
The surface area of Lake Rogen is 35 square kilometres. The lake is inaccessible and exciting with innumerable inlets, islands and varied shores. Here and there, mainly on the north-eastern side you find soft sandy beaches with crystal clear water. The nutrient-poor surroundings make the water clear.
The shores are stony and inaccessible. The best way of exploring the lake is by canoeing, but a warning must be issued against the unpredictable weather. A storm can blow up very quickly and without notice! It is said that the lake is only smooth as a mirror on a few occasions every year.
Rogen and the surrounding waters hold a rich fish fauna of brown trout, charr, grayling, whitefish, perch, pike and burbot.
